Founded by Edouard Bovet in 1822 in Switzerland in Fleurier, Bovet’s watches were famous for their amazing decorations. Edouard Bovet is known as the inventor of the transparent caseback. Edouard Bovet died in 1849 and at that time, Bovet’s watches were very popular in China. In 1889 Bovet filed a patent for a flyback chronograph. This incredible complication adds another time zone to chronographs. In 2007 Bovet started to work with Pininfarina to develop sporty collections and in 2010 Bovet released the AMADEO case which turns wristwatches into pocket watches without any tool. In 2014 Bovet announced the very first in-house mechanical movement entirely designed by Bovet.
